We often say, “Just follow your intuition!”  like that’s something easy or obvious.  Maybe we recognize the feeling/intuition/hunch/whatever, and then heeding it is another thing.

To work with this, let’s make it a conscious practice.  First, cultivate awareness that information is even arriving.  Then a process of discernment~ is your day or life in a place where you can follow the thread of action.   If you can’t stop thinking about it, that’s your clue: it must be done.  If life presents a confluence of opportunity to allow it, it must be done.  If life presents obstacles, have inquiry on the discrepancy.

Let’s take that Bridge Dancing.  I just got a notion that it would be fun.  It didn’t hurt that I’m obsessed the the Virtualbridege dance2 2 Choir song about a girl flying.  Then some details arrived~ make a video with Gina and her feathers, find some moon songs, give everyone scarves, and have a party!

Guess what.  After convincing people to actually follow me out there, it got More Interesting.  I wasn’t self-conscious, I felt strong and flexible (gasp), AND other people were having very powerful responses, like it was HEALING.

BINGO.

GE DIGITAL CAMERAAll because I had the spark, followed the thread, then consciously built it.   I know it isn’t always this easy or fun.  Sometimes it’s the little thing~ like saying a truth, making an unexpected stop at the store, making a phone call…. Tune in.  You may just end up dancing.

Part 2

Artists and mystics know one secret.  It isn’t easy.  You have to create stillness and quiet so the spark has a landing pad.  If our minds and days are all cluttered and full, it’s hard for anything new to arrive.

One sign of being stuck is the “trying really hard to figure it out” mode.  Continual ‘trying hard’ at anything and not getting results is clue #1 to Stop.  If a challenge or process isn’t responding to your head ‘figuring,’ Stop.

Our best ideas and impulses usually just arrive all on their own, right?  All of a sudden, you just know something.  You may feel an emotion in your heart or a sensation in your belly~ two very sophisticated intelligence systems.  The brain is secondary.

So honor the quiet.  Create a little more space to listen.  It doesn’t have to be a big deal.
