If you’ve been told ”you should do yoga” or thought “I should do yoga,” this series is for you. Or perhaps you’ve come to a class and left feeling bewildered, alienated, or even injured. This is an invitation to give it another try so you can benefit from the good that yoga has to offer.

If you currently attend classes and want help refining your poses and meditation seat, please join us as well.

In this series we will learn, refine, and sequence poses. We will cover some of the basic tenets of a yoga practice and come to understand the general flow of a yoga class.

  • Learn some basic yoga asana poses and how to best benefit from them.

  • Understand how teachers will sequence the flow of a class.

  • Practice the breathing technique teachers often  prompt.

  • Find or refine your comfortable meditation position.

  • Learn some meditation basics.

  • Learn about foundational yoga ethics.

Join us for personalized attention so you can confidently attend any yoga class or gain support for your personal home practice.

Since our teaching styles are very different, we make a good team to help prepare you for any class.

We hope you can attend all three sessions to get the most attention and support.  Drop-ins are welcome if you can only make it to one or two of the classes.

Kasey comes from a lifetime of manual labor and athletics. She grew up the second of eight children working on dairy farms and participating in every sport she could. She was a national championship collegiate rower and a road cyclist with two Idaho Women’s Challenge Stage Races under her chamois. Although the world class competition stayed well ahead of Kasey on the road, the international champions tell  the story about how the Lantern Rouge from Idaho dominated the arm wrestling competition at the after party!

Kasey had a nineteen year career as a wildland firefighter, seventeen of which she spent smokejumping. She left the fireline to raise her two children while her husband continues to play with fire.

Kasey is always looking for ways to maintain optimal health and well being, preferably outside! She skis, rides, hikes, sometimes runs in short bursts for fun, climbs trees (mostly to pick fruit!), gardens, jumps rope, and will do almost anything to get into a good berry patch! One of her favorite things to do is share what keeps her body moving and leads mindful movement classes, incorporating yoga, mobility and strength training, in her local community as well as on retreats.

Renée brings a unique blend of perspectives as an educator, mindset coach, retreat facilitator, yoga teacher, and writer. She began attending yoga classes in 2000. Her yoga teacher training is with the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Bharati lineage. Bharati translates as one who loves the light of knowledge. She teaches a morning flow class at Enliven that builds an invigorating sequence in a bath of beautiful music.
