November is a mixed bag when you live in McCall. The days lean to grayness and business slows waaay down. I get to rest a little and practice nonattachment with my bank account balance.
This year, November decided to surprise me.
First, the Community Spiritual Muse sent me an issue of Parabola magazine, whose byline is “Myth, Tradition, and Meaning.” I love how this publication weaves archetypes, stories, and spiritual traditions. This month’s theme, “Liberation and Letting Go.”
Second, the Prayer Blanket Lady brought me TWO large, soft bankets for our massage table. They are fleece beauties tied together with knots, each one a prayer. You covered with love and healing intention~how awesome is that?
Third, the Scientist Saving the World brought me lunch and two bottles of wine, so I’d have a choice. I don’t recall anyone ever bringing me wine for their massage. Plus I get to hear about peptide receptors in the hippocampus and mice in space. Can you believe this is my JOB?
THEN, the Prayer Blanket Lady brought FOUR MORE blankets for my yoga nidra session at the Maven’s Haven this weekend. I now have enough Blankets Made with Love to cover every participant during this powerful healing practice.
I feel so blessed. When we freely and sincerely give to someone, we create a blessing, an intention to create well-being. Anyone can do it~ you don’t need to be clergy or have some kind of authority. It doesn’t even have to be a thing. The best gift is often simple kindness~ a gesture, word, remembering, curiosity.
Now, to let it all go!
